Dr. Nádia Skorupa Parachin is joining Cemvita as VP of Industrial Biotechnology. Nádia brings astounding expertise in synthetic biology, bioprocess development, and strategic leadership. Nadia was a professor at Universidade de Brasília for nine years before co-founding a Brazilian start-up named Integra Bioprocessos. Her impressive background and unique capabilities make her a valuable asset as we continue to drive innovation in the biomanufacturing industry.
This announcement comes after a recent wave of breakthroughs in Cemvita’s optimized microorganisms. “Adding Nadia’s experience is the natural next step in commercializing this remarkable science” says Moji Karimi, Cemvita’s CEO. Dr. Parachin’s decision to join our team fuels our momentous growth as we hyper-scale our production capabilities.
Nádia joins Cemvita from Boston, where she was a Senior Director at Ginkgo Bioworks. Her move to Houston signifies not just her confidence in Cemvita’s Mission, but also in Houston as a Biomanufacturing hub. In Nadia’s words “Houston is a city where things get built.”
Dr. Tara Karimi, Cemvita’s Chief Science Officer agrees: “Great minds from innovation hubs like Boston and Silicon Valley are looking to bring their knowledge to fruition, and Houston is the place for talent at the highest level to be part of that.”
